HAPPY NEW YEAR!  I love the start of a new year.  The feeling that comes with getting organized and prepared for the months ahead is very therapeutic.  May that be on work, events, or simply making sure that my families affairs are all taken care of – it’s a wonderful time.  However, life isn’t always on the up and up.  Sometimes it can feel overwhelming and down right challenging. Then what?  I’ve always found that taking a few quite moments to give back to yourself is a good place to start.

Try doing this… Spend 10 minutes to sit or lay somewhere comfortable and quietly alone – with no distractions.  Your mind will want to race to all the things that you have going on, but do your best to quite your mind.  Actually ask it to “be quite” – and place your focus on your breath.  

Once you have a sense of calm, begin to breath positive affirmations into your life. Do this daily for one week, and I promise it will bring that new year spirit into your consciousness.
