While on the hunt to find some cool 4th of July crafting ideas on Pinterest, I found myself drawn to the American flag.

As most of you know, I am organically from Australia – yet America is home for me and my family.

I love this country. So today on independence day, I thought I’d share some great D.I.Y. American flags with you.

I love natural tones, and this simple raw wooden plank flag with 3 white stars can be hung all year round.

I also love paint – and we all know how easy it is to transform a room with a can of paint – D.I.Y. projects like these flags bring used wood new life.

I’ve seen a lot of people use fabric to create flags, and this vintage inspired flag stands out.b2ee0e069733e53ae7b5b11a9c7521dfAnd finally, an American flag that says it all!

No matter where you are today celebrating the “freedom” we are blessed to experience in this great nation.  Remember to take a moment to reflect and give thanks to the men and woman throughout the years who have given their lives in order for us to live abundantly.

Happy 4th of July my friends.
